Star Wars Museum in Witaszyce – a galactic adventure in Poland
June 9, 2025
Planning a trip around Poland and looking for a place that will pull you into a whole different dimension of reality? Or perhaps you’re just (or indeed!) huge fans of space adventures from a galaxy far, far away…? Well then, we’ve got something truly unique for you! In the small, seemingly peaceful town of Witaszyce, located near Jarocin, a real treat awaits you – the Star Wars Museum. This is a place that clearly shows that Poland can hold surprising, fascinating corners, perfect for a family trip, a day out with friends, or even a solo fan pilgrimage. The passion and dedication with which the museum director and the entire team operate are visible at every turn. Prepare for an unforgettable journey through time and space, because for a moment, Witaszyce becomes, I’d say, the unofficial capital of Polish Star Wars fans.
Welcome to the Magical World of Star Wars

Stepping through the threshold of this extraordinary museum, you are almost immediately immersed in an atmosphere perfectly familiar from the big screen. The Star Wars Museum is certainly not just an ordinary collection of objects; it’s a real, carefully planned journey through the entire history of the galactic saga, full of small and large details that will delight both seasoned, long-time collectors and those just starting their adventure with this vast universe. What’s more, this Star Wars museum in Witaszyce is the only such place in all of Poland, which makes it, for me, an absolute must-see for anyone who considers themselves a fan.
What Will You See Inside?

A visit to the museum is primarily a feast for the eyes and… the soul of a fan! They’ve gathered a truly impressive collection here.
Collection of Unique Exhibits and Memorabilia
The Star Wars Museum has managed to assemble the largest collection of unique items in Poland, coming from practically all parts of the saga – both live-action and animated. Just think, that’s over 1000 various exhibits! You’ll find almost everything a fan could wish for: from intricately crafted models of spacecraft, through original posters and costume fragments, right through to truly rare mementos, which are said to have come directly from the film set. A huge and, it must be said, incredibly impressive part of the exhibition are the fascinating exhibits built from Lego bricks, which depict epic scenes and characters in incredibly detailed ways – this is something you can stand and admire for quite some time, appreciating the skill of the creators. It’s a real treat, both for lovers of the saga itself and those who enjoy building with the popular bricks; you know, it’s like a combination of two wonderful worlds.
Meeting Face-to-Face with Iconic Characters
One of, in my opinion, the most exciting moments of the visit is the chance to stand, well, maybe not eye-to-eye, but face-to-face with the saga’s heroes at their natural, film ‘height’. The Star Wars Museum boasts a truly impressive collection of 1:1 scale character figures! You can take a photo with your favourite droids, such as the good old, dependable R2D2, meet the gaze of the dark Darth Maul, and even, if you’re prepared to face the gaze from under a helmet, stand shoulder to shoulder with Stormtroopers. It’s a truly unforgettable experience that makes the film’s magic become a tangible reality and, honestly, stays with visitors for a long time, because let’s face it, how often in life do you get to stand next to Darth Vader?
Witaszyce – A Galaxy in the Heart of Wielkopolska

Although Witaszyce might seem like a small, peaceful Wielkopolska town, it holds within it, as I mentioned, a truly cosmic surprise. Located in the heart of Poland, it has become an important, perhaps not a spaceport, but certainly a destination for all who wish to feel the Force for themselves. The very existence of such a specialised Star Wars museum right here, in Witaszyce, is proof that true passion knows no bounds – neither geographical nor, indeed, any others – and can flourish even far from the hustle and bustle of big cities and well-trodden tourist paths.
How to Get to Witaszyce and What’s Around?
Witaszyce is located in beautiful Wielkopolska, quite near Jarocin. Getting to the Star Wars museum is relatively straightforward, whether you choose a car or public transport. I, for example, often drive through there when heading towards places like Poznań. Witaszyce Palace, within whose complex the museum is housed, is an easily recognisable landmark, so it’s hard to miss. It’s always worth checking the opening hours and ticket prices beforehand, although it’s always best to verify this information directly before your visit because, you know, things can sometimes change, to avoid any unnecessary surprises, but generally, it’s easy to get to. And what about the surrounding area? A visit to Witaszyce isn’t just about cosmic adventures, although they are the main draw. The town itself and its immediate surroundings offer a few interesting spots for those who have a little time. Of course, the main attraction, besides the Star Wars Museum itself, is the historic palace and park complex – just strolling through the park is a pleasure. It’s also worth looking for information about the local Holy Trinity Church, dating from the early 19th century. If you have more time, the area around Jarocin and all of Southern Wielkopolska holds some real gems, such as the beautiful Palace in Dobrzyca or the charming Manor House in Śmiełowo. As a friend of mine, who’s a fan of regional trips, always says, “Wielkopolska always has a surprise in store”. It’s worth planning a longer trip, perhaps even a whole weekend, to fully discover the charms of this region, because one day might be, well, a bit short.
A Museum Within Historic Walls

The Star Wars Museum itself is located in a beautiful 18th-century manor house, which is an integral part of the historic palace complex in Witaszyce. This historic building adds an extra, I’d say, stately dimension to the whole visit, combining modern pop culture with a rich, centuries-old past. The contrast between the historic architecture and the cosmic exhibits is truly fascinating and creates a unique atmosphere for the place. The museums are located right next to the main palace, forming a cohesive cultural complex which, interestingly, houses a comfortable hotel and restaurant within the neo-Baroque palace itself, which can be a great option for tourists planning a longer stay and not wanting to drive around the area looking for accommodation or a meal.
Napoleon Right Next Door – A Different Era, The Same Place
And this is where things get really interesting! Surprisingly, in the same manor house where the Star Wars Museum is located, you’ll also find the Napoleonic Museum. This museum is entirely dedicated to the Napoleonic Era and aims to show the huge contribution of Poles to the fight for independence under the leadership of Napoleon Bonaparte. Here you can admire an incredibly rich collection, numbering, get this, over 10,000 soldier figures from those turbulent times! The real cherry on the cake (or, if you prefer, the Death Star 😉) are two large dioramas depicting the battles of Raszyn (around 2000 figures) and the famous Battle of Waterloo (around 4000 figures) – the level of detail is impressive. Furthermore, weapons, uniforms, coins, books, and documents from the era are displayed. The Museum of Napoleonic Wars in Witaszyce is located on the Napoleonic Trail of Southern Wielkopolska, which makes this place a fascinating combination of two, it would seem, completely different worlds – a cosmic fantasy saga and real, albeit distant, history, sometimes even provoking, half-jokingly, thoughts of a hypothetical clash of forces as distant as Darth Vader vs. Napoleon Bonaparte. (For history buffs, it’s a fantastic bonus).
A Museum That Lives and Breathes – Events and Occasions
The Star Wars Museum in Witaszyce isn’t just a static exhibition that you look at and move on from. It’s a place that, befitting a good Rebel base, is buzzing with life, organising a variety of events that can make a visit even more unforgettable. In my opinion, it’s a great option for organised groups, but also for individuals looking for unusual forms of entertainment.
Looking for an idea for a truly original birthday for the kids, or maybe even for adult fans? Or perhaps planning a company event or team-building session that will remain, truly remain, in the participants’ memories for a long time? The Star Wars Museum in Witaszyce is happy to organise special events and company functions, naturally strongly related to the saga’s theme. It’s a guarantee that the fun will be out of this world, all within the surroundings of your favourite characters and all those fantastic exhibits. The opportunity to organise such an event in such a unique place is, without a doubt, a real treat for any fan. What’s more, for the youngest fans of the saga, camps and team-building events are also organised – can you imagine a better holiday? It’s a fantastic opportunity to spend time with peers who share the same passion, take part in themed games and workshops (probably building Lego ships!), while simultaneously soaking up the museum’s atmosphere and admiring the impressive collection. Such camps are probably the dream of every young Star Wars fan, providing education through entertainment, all in galactic style, which, let’s be honest, sounds great.
Who is the Witaszyce Museum For – Is it Worth Visiting?
You often wonder, I expect, whether the Star Wars Museum in Witaszyce is the place, well, for you? I’m absolutely convinced it is! It’s an attraction with an incredibly wide appeal that can, I’m sure of it, delight everyone, regardless of age, whether they’re 5 or 55, or their level of familiarity with the saga – seriously, even if you’ve only seen one film, you’ll still have a great time.
Firstly, it’s an ideal place for a family trip, in my opinion. The kids will simply be thrilled by the chance to see 1:1 scale characters in person, admiring the models built from Lego bricks, and feeling like film characters, even if just for a moment. Parents will nostalgically recall (though… has anyone ’really’ forgotten?) the moments spent with the saga in their youth, and those like me will simply feel right at home. It’s a shared experience that, I believe, brings people closer and provides plenty of positive emotions. Visitors to the site can also, which is convenient during a full-day family outing, take advantage of meals on site, so there’s no need to look elsewhere.
But most importantly, the Star Wars museum in Witaszyce is a real paradise for die-hard Star Wars enthusiasts. The vast collection of exhibits, all those details familiar from the films, the opportunity to see rare, sometimes truly unique items – all this makes every fan feel right at home here, and what’s more, there’s a good chance they’ll discover something completely new that they didn’t know before. Regardless of whether you’ve been a fan for years, remembering the premiere of the first film, or are just starting your journey, this place will provide you, I’m convinced, with unforgettable experiences and will certainly deepen your passion for this extraordinary galactic tale. Unless… well, unless you really don’t like Star Wars, but then I suppose you wouldn’t even be reading this article, would you?
See and Read – Gallery and Reviews
Imagination is one thing, but the chance to see something with your own eyes, or at least in photos, is something else entirely! When planning a visit to somewhere, we often instinctively look online for photos and videos to get a feel for the atmosphere, see what awaits us, and, let’s be honest, make sure it’s worth visiting and the whole trip. The Witaszyce museum, in my opinion, has a great deal, a really great deal, to offer visually, and online, fortunately, there’s plenty of material available that can effectively encourage you to make the trip. Browsing photos of the Star Wars museum, you’ll certainly come across fantastic shots of the exhibits, those impressive 1:1 scale characters, and fascinating Lego dioramas – the latter are simply incredible – the level of detail is immense! Photographs often perfectly convey the scale and detail of the collection, showing how much heart has been put into creating this exhibition; it’s visible at first glance. We always try to capture our travel moments ourselves, and in Witaszyce, I tell you, there are tons of shots that you simply, well, ’have’ to take! Your own photos will then become a wonderful, tangible memento of this galactic expedition.
For those of you who, for whatever reason, can’t visit Witaszyce in person in the near future, a virtual tour option is often available – of course, it’s not the same as being there in person, but… it’s a great way to get a preliminary feel for the museum’s layout, see some of the exhibits, and get a taste of the atmosphere without leaving home, from your own sofa. Virtual tours give you a nice preview of what awaits you there and can be an extra incentive to plan that actual trip to the capital of the Polish Star Wars Museum, because, really, why not?
Before we set off into the unknown, be it a distant galaxy or simply a new town, we always like to check out other travellers’ reviews, don’t we? Reviews give us a broader picture of the place and let us know what we can really expect; they’re valuable tips from ‘locals’ or those who have already been there. The Star Wars Museum in Witaszyce usually receives very, very positive reviews, and visitors most often praise the richness of the collection and the unique, captivating atmosphere. Most visitors highlight the sheer amount of work and passion that has gone into assembling such an impressive collection – you can see and feel it! People often mention the children’s joy upon seeing the 1:1 scale characters and the delight, even among adults, at the detail of the Lego models, because they’re simply amazing, believe me. Positive reviews also touch upon the overall feel of the place and the ability to transport you into the world of the beloved saga; it’s like, well, a small dream come true. Many emphasise that this Star Wars museum is a must-visit for anyone even slightly interested in this universe, and I think it’s hard to disagree with that.
Upon returning from Witaszyce, I warmly encourage you, and indeed, I’d even say, strongly urge you, to share your impressions, leave a comment, upload photos. Your reviews and photos can help other saga enthusiasts discover this extraordinary place, and that’s what sharing a passion is all about, isn’t it? Did you finally meet your favourite character? What made the biggest, the ’really’ biggest, impression on you? Are you planning to return, perhaps with other friends? Every opinion is valuable and, you could say, helps build this small community of Star Wars Museum fans in Witaszyce, and after all, together we are stronger!
