By the way, in Roztocze you will meet Koniki Polskie (Polish ponies), which are an integral part of the landscape. It is worth adding that the Roztocze offers many tourist attractions, including hiking and cycling trails, ideal for active pursuits.
Above all, Roztocze is a hilly area, which delights with its charm. Hills gently transition into valleys, creating picturesque landscapes, ideal for hiking and cycling. It is here that Koniki Polskie (Polish ponies), which have become a symbol of the region, live.
These small but extremely sturdy horses fit perfectly into the Roztocze landscape, adding even more charm to it. In fact, from another perspective, they are there at home, and we are just guests.

Kazimierz Dolny – a pearl, but isn’t it overrated?
Kazimierz Dolny is, well, a real pearl of the Lublin region – a city of artists, backstreets, galleries and atmospheric cafes. In truth, it is a place where history blends with modernity, and every corner hides a unique charm. Walking around Kazimierz, you will feel the magic of this place and understand why it has been attracting crowds of tourists for years.
Kazimierz Dolny is a city that is best discovered slowly, walking along narrow alleys and peeping into numerous galleries and art workshops. Along the way, it is worth stopping off at one of the atmospheric restaurants to sample local specialities and feel the true atmosphere of the place. We particularly recommend the “Kwadrans” restaurant, famous for its unique atmosphere. While in Kazimierz Dolny, you absolutely must try the local delicacies.
And did you know that in addition to atmospheric restaurants, Kazimierz Dolny is also famous for its local flavours?
An obligatory point on the culinary map of the city is the Sarzyński Bakery, where you can try traditional Kazimierski cockerels. This sweet bread has become a symbol of Kazimierz and is a real treat for gourmets. You can learn more about the culinary history of Kazimierz at the Museum of Rooster and Kazimier Culinary Traditions. Remember that Gaia sticks Kazimierski roosters! As a guide friend of mine says: “A rooster in Kazimierz is a must!”.

Zamość, known as the “Padua of the North”, is an ideal Renaissance city which impresses with its architecture and urban planning. Designed with flair and attention to detail, Zamość is a real pearl of the Lublin region and one of the most beautiful cities in Poland. And it is not without reason that the Old Town in Zamość was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The heart of Zamość is the Rynek Wielki, which impresses with its proportions and harmony. The Market Square is surrounded by beautiful Armenian Town Houses, which are decorated with rich ornaments and colourful facades. This, an ideal place for a walk, during which you can admire the architecture of Renaissance Zamość. In Zamość you can feel the spirit of the old times.
Zamość Academy and what else?
While walking around Zamość, it is worth paying attention to the Zamojska Academy, which used to be an important centre of science and culture and now…? It’s also worth strolling along Grodzka Street, which is the main artery of the city and connects the Rynek Wielki with other important monuments. Admire the Armenian townhouses in Zamość – they are truly beautiful! While in Zamość, you should also visit the Zamoyski Museum.
Land of Camomile and Zaborek – something for families
The Lublin region is also a great place for a family holiday. The Land of Camomile and Uroczysko Zaborek offer numerous attractions for children and adults, which will make your stay unforgettable. There are many other interesting places worth visiting in the area.
Zwierzyniec – the gateway to Roztocze
Zwierzyniec, known as the capital of the Roztocze, is a charming little town that makes an excellent base for exploring the Roztocze National Park. Here you will find numerous hiking trails, picturesque landscapes and historic sites that will delight any nature and history lover. It is a popular destination for excursions in the region.
1. start your visit to Zwierzyniec from the Church on the Island, which is one of the most recognisable symbols of the town.
2. then make your way to Stawy Echo (Echo Ponds), where you can admire the beauty of Roztocze nature and rest in peace and quiet.
3. while walking, see the Polish Horse Breeding Centre.
And there’s that Roztocze National Park again….
From Zwierzyniec you can easily reach the Roztoczanski National Park, which is a real paradise for nature lovers. Here you will find numerous hiking trails, which, lead through dense forests, picturesque valleys and charming hills. This, an ideal place for active leisure and close contact with nature. Tourist attractions in Lublin also include the opportunity to admire wildlife in Zwierzyniec.
Emilcin and Jan Wolski – does a UFO really exist?
Emilcin is a small village that has become famous all over Poland for an alleged encounter with a UFO. The story of Jan Wolski, a local farmer who was supposedly abducted by an alien civilisation, still stirs emotions and fires the imagination today. Is it true? I don’t know, but… It’s a place that will certainly interest all lovers of mysteries and unexplained phenomena. It is certainly one of the interesting places in Lubelskie.
The story of Jan Wolski, who was supposedly abducted by an alien civilisation in 1978, is still controversial to this day. There is a UFO monument in Emilcin, which commemorates this event and reminds us of the mysteries hidden, the universe.
Emilcin is a place that will certainly interest all lovers of mysteries and, unexplained phenomena. Walking through this small village, you can feel the atmosphere of mystery and wonder whether Jan Wolski really met aliens… Hmm… It is certainly worth visiting this unusual place.
Kaliszany-Kolonia – Vistula as if from a painting

It is an ideal place for hiking and cycling trips. It is worth mentioning that Kaliszany-Kolonia is located near the castle in Janowiec.

It’s worth seeing the view from the top… really worth it! What’s more, the iodine concentration in the Roztocze is comparable to the Polish coast. From the tower you can enjoy beautiful views of the entire area.

The Wieprz River is one of the most beautiful rivers in the Lublin region, flowing through Roztocze.
